Privacy Policy
IngreView (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a mobile app and this website to help you understand product ingredient labels. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why, and your choices. It is written to match how the product works today. It is not legal advice.
1. Information we process
Account
- Email and password if you register that way.
- Sign-in with Google, Apple, or Facebook (we receive identity information those providers share, such as name and email, subject to your provider settings).
- Optional guest (anonymous) sessions.
- Profile details you set (for example display name, avatar, bio, language preference).
App content you create
- Scans, barcode lookups, ingredient text, and analysis results you generate.
- Photos or camera captures you submit for label reading.
- Collection / diary entries, comparisons, goals, and allergen preferences.
- Optional community content you choose to post (for example household notes, list titles, or feedback), subject to moderation.
Device & notifications
- Push notification tokens when you allow notifications.
- Basic technical data needed to run the app (app version, platform, crash-free diagnostics we may add later).
Purchases
- Subscription and entitlement status for IngreView Care / Pro (via Apple, Google, and RevenueCat). We do not receive your full payment card number.
Website & support
- Information you email us (support requests, privacy requests).
- Limited technical logs from hosting (see Cookies & website analytics).
2. How we use information
- Provide core features: auth, scanning, analysis, collection sync, compare, and Care.
- Operate and secure the service (abuse prevention, debugging, rate limits).
- Improve shared catalog quality when you confirm or correct products.
- Send notifications you enable.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Measure disclosed affiliate link performance at an aggregate level.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or remarketing pixels in the current app build.
3. Where data is stored
- Some data stays on your device (local cache).
- Signed-in (non-guest) accounts sync selected content to our backend hosted with Supabase.
- This website is hosted on Vercel.
4. Processors & third parties
Depending on features you use, information may be processed by:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and server functions.
- OpenAI (or similar model providers) via our servers when you request AI analysis (image or text you submit may be sent for processing).
- RevenueCat and Apple / Google — subscriptions and restores.
- Expo / Apple / Google — push delivery (APNs / FCM) when enabled.
- Google, Apple, Facebook — if you choose those sign-in methods.
- Vercel — website hosting and related infrastructure logs.
- Product lookup sources (for example Open Food Facts and optional commercial barcode providers) when resolving barcodes.
- Retail partners (for example Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop) when you follow disclosed affiliate links (their sites process your purchase under their policies).
5. Affiliate & commerce links
If you use shop or alternative links, we may receive a commission (Amazon Associates and other partners when active). We may log non-sensitive click events (for example offer id and approximate time) to understand which disclosed options are useful. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
6. Cookies & website analytics
The marketing site is primarily static. Hosting may collect standard request logs (IP, user agent, pages) to operate and secure the site. We do not currently require a cookie banner for essential hosting. If we add optional analytics cookies later, we will update this section and, where required, request consent.
7. Health-related note
IngreView provides informational content about product ingredients. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional care. Always verify allergen and safety information on the physical label and with qualified professionals when needed.
8. Retention
We keep account and synced content while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations. Local device data remains until you clear app data or uninstall. You can request deletion as described below.
9. Your choices & rights
- Use the app as a guest with more limited cloud sync.
- Deny camera, photos, or notification permissions in system settings.
- Disconnect social login from the provider’s account settings.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Data & privacy) or email feedback@ingreview.app.
- Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information we hold.
We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
10. California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not use the app for third-party behavioral advertising. To exercise rights, contact feedback@ingreview.app.
11. Children
IngreView is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the app if you are under that age.
12. International processing
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
13. Security
We use HTTPS and industry-standard cloud controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your device updated.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the new date on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
